Prayer

Yesterday was the windiest day I have ever taken part in. At least the windiest day when there is no hurricane outside. The whole house was rattling. I was putting Princess Peach to sleep and she put her hands up in the air and just froze. She does weird stuff like this all the time when it is time to sleep. It is strange how badly she wants to stay up. When she was finished I asked:

“What where you doing?”

“Praying, what da you think? I am scared of the wind.”

“Oh I didn’t know. I don’t pray like that.”

“You’re a Christian right.”

“Right.”

“So how do you pray?”

“Well typically you would fold your hands like so. But I just kind of sit there and have a conversation."

"One time I prayed like that and my dad asked me what I was doing ‘your not a Christian.’ (That is her dad’s since of humor to a tee. I can hear him say it.) What do you pray for?”

“I pray that God will reveal himself to me.”

“What does that mean?”

“That he will show himself to me. He will talk and I will hear him.”

“I pray but I never hear anything.”

“Well let’s ask him then.”

“Ok”

(Then she repeated this prayer after me)

“God reveal yourself in a mighty way to me. Amen”

And that was that. It was bizarre. I know God will answer this prayer. It was true child like faith. Without hesitation she prayed to hear the voice of God. How many people do you know who would do that? It reminds me of the people in the Bible who where healed. Jesus said ask so they did. No hesitation just a kind of “oh is that all, ok” moment. It was beautiful.
